The real decoration of the autumn garden is the pyramids of tall trees, hung with crimson-red pears of the Nadyadnaya Efimova variety against the background of rich green foliage. Although many parameters of the variety are defined as average, these fruits, which have excellent taste and commercial qualities, were awarded a gold medal in 1989 in the city of Erfurt (Germany) at the International Agricultural Exhibition.

Description of pear varieties Nadyadnaya Efimova

This variety was created back in 1936 by V. Efimov, an employee of VSTISP

This pear variety is well known to the gardeners of our country. It was created back in 1936 by V. Efimov, an employee of VSTISP. The original varieties were Lyubimitsa Klappa and Tonkovotka. The FSBI State Variety Commission zoned the variety in 1974 and recommended it for cultivation in the Middle Volga (Mordovia, Tatarstan, Samara, Ulyanovsk and Penza regions) and Central (Kaluga, Bryansk, Ryazan, Ivanovskaya, Vladimirskaya, Tula, Moscow, Smolensk regions) regions.

Intensively growing pear trees of this variety are tall with a not very dense crown in the form of a pyramid and are slightly affected by scab. Their winter hardiness and yield are average. After planting a seedling on the site, the trees begin to bear fruit in the seventh or eighth year. The yield of adult pears is stable, from one hectare gardeners get up to 30–35 tons of fruits or up to 40 kg from a tree. The foliage fallen in the fall, covering the soil under the tree in a dense layer, can not be collected, it will provide additional shelter for the roots in winter.

Medium-sized white pear flowers have a strong aroma. They are pollinated by bees. For the formation of ovaries, pears of other varieties flowering in the same period are necessary.

Smooth, somewhat elongated fruits of this variety, covered with a yellow-green soft crust with an intense (up to 0.8 pear surface) blush of raspberry-red color, look very beautiful. Their average weight reaches 135 grams, and the maximum weight is up to 185 grams.

The inner pulp is light creamy and juicy with a pleasant sweet and sour taste. The millimeter layer under the skin of the pear is colored pink. 100 grams of the product contains up to 10 grams of sugars and about 13 milligrams of fruit acid.

Pears are harvested in early September and laid for ripening for 15–20 days, maximum - for a month, when the fruits reach consumer maturity. Tasting taste assessment - 4 points. Nadyadnaya Efimova's pears are not left on the branches until they are fully ripe, so that the fruits do not become watery and their pulp does not acquire viscosity.

Naryadnaya Efimova's pears can be easily transported over considerable distances without losing their consumer qualities, since they are removed from the tree half-ripe.

Planting pears

Having chosen a place on the site suitable for growing pears, the planting of the Nadyadnaya Efimova tree is carried out according to the scheme common to all fruit trees:

  1. Preparation of the landing pit.

    Planting pit preparation

  2. Installation of a support peg, filling the pit with soil mixed with fertilizers, watering it to shrink the soil.

    The soil should settle well

  3. Even placement of the root system of the seedling along the soil mound in the planting hole so that the root collar rises above the general soil level.

    The root collar must remain above the soil level

  4. Backfilling the hole and compacting the soil.

    Compaction of the soil near the tree trunk

  5. Watering the seedling.

    The planted tree is watered with two or three buckets of water

  6. Mulching the trunk circle with peat, wood shavings, grass cuttings or other organic materials.

    After absorbing water, the soil near the trunk is covered with humus, mown grass, wood shavings

The approximate amount of organic and mineral fertilizers laid in the planting pit is shown in the table below:

Taking care of the pear

The variety does not require any special care, different from that used for other fruit trees. He does not need shelter from the winter cold either. An elegant Efimova, planted in a sunny area where there is no nearby groundwater, will delight the gardener with a good harvest, provided:

  • making an annual top dressing;
  • watering in the amount of two or three buckets weekly (in drought it is necessary to water more often);
  • removing dried branches and shoots, thinning the crown.

Pear Nadyadnaya Efimova has a stable high immunity to fungal and bacterial diseases inherent in this type of plant. And also for the entire period of cultivation of this variety, not a single case of damage to the fruits or leaves of the tree by pests was recorded. Therefore, there is no need for preventive wood treatments. The pear is sprayed with any preparations only if pests or diseases are found on other garden trees.

Reviews of gardeners about the variety

Despite the emergence of more and more varieties of pears bred by modern breeders, many gardeners are happy to grow the Nadyadnaya Efimova pear, since planting this tree and its cultivation does not pose difficulties and does not cause unnecessary trouble.
